You might be saying to yourself, I know all of this information, but what NOW?
Promote awareness: Raising awareness about the link between environmental factors and cancer is key to inducing change. Educate others about the importance of reducing exposure to environmental toxins, and advocate for policies that promote environmental health and justice.
Support research: Funding research on the links between environmental factors and cancer can lead to a better understanding of the problem and solutions.
Take action and advocate for change: Make changes in your own life to reduce exposure to environmental toxins, like natural cleaning products, eating organic foods, and avoiding exposure to tobacco smoke and other harmful substances. You can also contact elected officials and community leaders to advocate for policies that prioritize environmental health and justice, such as clean air and water regulations, and increased access to green spaces.
Support organizations: Support organizations that are dedicated to reducing the cancer and environmental crisis, such as the Cancer Climate Health movement, The Climate Initiative, and the American Cancer Society through donations or volunteering.
